Approximately twenty-five thousand homes in south-east Queensland found themselves experiencing outages on Monday morning after intense storm systems passed over the area, producing wind gusts hitting 109km/h.

Public health experts alerted that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the state's northern country region, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
