Far-Right Ex- Legislator J.A. Kast Voted In as Chile Next Leader.
After a definitive final ballot, hardline figure José Antonio Kast has clinched the top job in Chile.
A Commanding Victory
After more than 99% of ballots counted, Kast secured 58.17% of the ballots, defeating leftist contender Jeannette Jara, who received 41.83%.
This represents Kast's third presidency, having in the past been lost by the current president, Gabriel Boric, in the 2021 runoff.
Campaign Centered On Law and Order and Immigration
Known for his staunch Catholic views and praise for the period of dictator Augusto Pinochet, Kast's platform was primarily built on promises to combat growing insecurity and radically reduce immigration.

Governing Without a Clear Mandate
