Ex- BBC Advisers Participate in Members of Parliament's Grilling After Claims of Partiality in Disclosed Document
We begin with inquiries from Tory Member of Parliament Caroline Dinenage, who chairs the committee.
She initiates by offering context to the leaked document written by Michael Prescott and published in a daily publication.
"It is not my wish for the British Broadcasting Corporation tilting in any particular direction, I just want it neutral, unbiased and fair," he declares.
When asked whether he thinks the British Broadcasting Corporation is structurally prejudiced, he responds: "Absolutely not. Let's be clear, a great deal the British Broadcasting Corporation does is world class - including informative and fictional programming."
However, he continues: "There is significant effort that needs to be done at the British Broadcasting Corporation."
The second ex-adviser BBC adviser questioned by the panel, Caroline Daniel, says she takes the British Broadcasting Corporation extremely earnestly and that it maintains a "persistent practice and lively discussion" on fluid and multifaceted subjects.
"Was the BBC willing to have a genuine dialogue and argument and implement changes?" she questions. "From my perspective, affirmative, they were."
